With the Dubai Rugby Sevens (Dec 3-5 2009) just around the corner, it seems like a good time to introduce the women’s game of sevens to some people who may never have thought of watching or participating. The women’s sevens game has been alive and kicking in the UAE and surrounding Gulf states for some years now and with each year we see better skills, improved players and more entertaining games for spectators.

Three leading women’s rugby players are in Copenhagen this week to promote the IRB’s bid for rugby’s inclusion at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kazakhstan’s Anastassiya Khamova, Australia's Cheryl Soon and Humphrey Kayange of Kenya are in Copenhagen to present to the International Olympic Committee membership on October 9.
